REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Acupuncture is the procedure of inserting and manipulating filiform needles into various points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes. The word acupuncture comes from the Latin acus, "needle", and pungere, "to prick". In Standard Chinese, acupuncture is called (zhenbian), or a related word, "zhenjiu", which refers to acupuncture together with moxibustion (a traditional Chinese medicine therapy) According to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture points are situated on meridians along which "qi" ( "life energy" ), flows.
The Pilates method and principles encompass an exercise system unlike any other. It can be described as an unique method of body conditioning, combining a low-impact and safe approach to realign, elongate and strengthen the whole body, restore muscle balance and flexibility, acquire effective breathing and core stability, thus preventing and relieving long standing postural aches and pains.
Massage is the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to enhance the function and promote relaxation and well-being. The word comes from the French massage "friction of kneading", or from Arabic massa meaning "to touch, feel or handle" or from Latin massa meaning "mass, dough". In distinction the ancient Greek word for massage was anatripsis, and the Latin was frictio. Massage involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure-structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving - tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles , tendons , ligaments , skin , joints , or other connective tissue , as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system . Massage can be applied with the hands , fingers , elbows, knees , forearm , and feet. There are over eighty different recognized massage modalities. The most cited reasons for introducing massage as therapy have been client demand and perceived clinical effectiveness.
In professional settings massage involves the client being treated while lying on a massage table, sitting in a massage chair , or lying on a mat on the floor. The massage subject may be fully or partly unclothed . Parts of the body may be covered with towels or sheets.

Hypnotherapy We all go into an hypnotic trance several times a day - such as when we are going to sleep and when we are waking up, when we concentrate on watching a TV programme or arrive home and cannot remember the drive or journey.
Hypnosis can be used to bypass the 'critical faculty' of the human mind so that more positive suggestions can be introduced into the subconscious that will better serve the hypnotic subject in their daily life.
Our critical factor comes into play when we experience our very earliest thoughts so that our self-image is formed by the age of four. Our conscious minds cannot remember or retain every single memory or piece of information that we are presented with on a daily basis, so the 'critical faculty' in our conscious mind rejects things that the unconscious mind is not prepared to accept.
These include all the things that do not fit in with our belief systems, so that if we hold a belief, for example, that we are not intelligent, any praise on about how bright we are or any of the clever things that we have done will be filtered out. It is much more difficult to get a person to change their view of themselves purely through addressing the conscious mind, so this is where hypnotherapy really helps by directly addressing the unconscious mind.
