Acupuncture

Patient relaxed with thin acupuncture needles in her back

Acupuncture is used by physiotherapists to help stimulate the body’s own healing chemicals and ameliorate pain.

Extremely fine stainless steel needles are inserted into the skin. The nerves then stimulate parts of the brain and spinal cord to produce our own pain relieving chemicals (endorphins), melatonin (which aids sleep) and serotonin (which helps well being).

All of our physios who practice acupuncture are members of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists).
